I stayed in about 12 hotels and guest houses in Switzerland over three weeks. In terms of value for money, this was one of the worst.
The room was tiny and faced the noisy railway station. The bathroom was so small the door would not open properly to enter. It banged against the basin.
The tariff included breakfast, which is common, but this was a poor breakfast. No cheese or cold meat, just bread, jams and fruit. No bottomless coffee pot.
When I asked about internet access, I was waved casually towards the train station restaurant. I could not connect.
Romanshorn is quite pretty, with a picturesque harbour for the ferries that travel up and down Bodensee and over to the German side.
The tariff for the Hotel Anker was SF92, the same as I paid the previous night for a far superior hotel at Rorschach, down the coast.
